WHAT

IS 180 WEEKEND?

180 Weekend combines large group worship and small group Bible study to make for a great weekend where students' lives can be radically changed.  Students from all over Gaston County and the surrounding areas will join together for worship on Wednesday.  They will gather again on Friday and Saturday - and from there, the students will go to host homes (if their church so chooses) for small group Bible study.

Large group sessions take place on Friday night, Saturday morning, and Saturday afternoon of the event.  They are divided into two major elements: worship in music and preaching of the Word. Music is led by a band or individual in a way that glorifies God and proclaims the gospel. The time of preaching and teaching is an opportunity for the speaker to clearly proclaim God's Word and call students to respond to the gospel.

Small group sessions are an optional part of 180 Weekend. They are led and coordinated by individual churches to partner with the theme and teaching of the large group times to further disciple and minister to their student ministry.  Teaching materials and instuctions on how to incorporate the small group sessions are provided to all registered churches to utlilize them in their own context. Most churches organize host homes and small groups for 180 Weekend. Others walk through the material in the weeks that follow 180 Weekend.
